In 2017 Mercedes-AMG celebrated its 50th anniversary. To honour this event a decision was made to collaborate with BUSSINK® to develop 5 limited high-performance sports cars with a wink to the past.
When BUSSINK® presented the unforeseen idea of paying tribute to AMG’s first official participating race car to the Mercedes-AMG team, they could only give green light! Based on the Mercedes-AMG GT R (577Ps), the Mercedes-AMG GT RS Rote Sau was built and equipped with an astonishing 840Ps and 1038Nm of torque.

With 850 PS and lots of carbon lightweight components, the BUSSINK GT R Speedlegend is a contemporary interpretation of a modern high-performance speedster with a Formula 1 feeling. Whether in sporty driving mode or relaxed cruising, this roadster exceeds all expectations.

As the extravagant design of the BUSSINK GT R Speedlegend suggests, the implementation of such a project requires an equally unconventional designer. The Speedlegend was dreamed up and designed by the entrepreneur Ronald A. Bussink, who is responsible for the design and development of the vehicle. Bussink has been a passionate car collector and "Friend of the Brand Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG" for decades. As a member of the exclusive “Circle of Excellence”, he is in close contact with those responsible for the brand at Daimler and has always enjoyed exchanging ideas about design and giving his input. His primary goal has always been to improve the cars from the perspective of the user and enthusiast.
